Radmila Ivetić
She graduated in economics from the University of Nice. She worked for several international humanitarian organisations from Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland. At the end of 2006, Radmila Ivetić co-founded the Belgrade Food Bank, after she realised how much good food went to waste in retail chains while it was still perfectly fit for people to eat.
To this day, thanks to Radmila’s commitment, persistence and daily dedication, the Belgrade Food Bank has distributed more than 10,000 tonnes of food, worth around eleven million euros, working with 250 humanitarian organisations and social institutions across Serbia. As a member of FEBA, the European Federation of Food Banks, Radmila Ivetić has been received by senior officials in many countries across Europe, among them Queen Sofía and Pope Francis, who thanked her and her fellow humanitarians for feeding thousands of children without parents, residents of shelters and soup kitchens, single parents and people with disabilities, and for working actively to change laws and regulations in favour of those vulnerable groups.
