Sloboda Mićalović

These photographs were taken during the shooting of the documentary “A House Among the Stars”, which I directed in 2024 for the fortieth anniversary of the Zvezdara Theatre. I wanted to capture a striking scene from the play “Tre sorele”, in which Sloboda begins to sing as she takes the washing off the line and wraps herself in a clean white sheet. I told her that through the lens she looked like the Madonna — and Sloboda simply crossed herself.
